Blog Tour Stop: The Guys are Props Club by Ingrid Seymour

The Guys Are Props Club - Ingrid Seymour
The Guys Are Props Club
by Ingrid Seymour

During her senior year in high school, Maddie Burch promised herself not to ever fall for a cute guy – or any guy – again. Cute guys are players and not to be trusted, a fact she learned the hard way when her first boyfriend ran her heart through a paper shredder. Two years later, her promise is still intact, and she’s determined to make it through college without falling victim to another creep. She has her job, school and The Guys Are Props Club to keep her mind and hormones in check.

The club was founded by Jessica, Maddie’s best friend. It is a sisterhood of girls who have fallen prey to heartless jerks and who have vowed to turn the tables. Once a semester, Jessica requires members to “do onto others as they’ve done unto you.” Setting the example, Jessica’s next play is Sebastian Capello, a theater major with heartthrob looks and a flair for Latin dance, whose heart she plans to break the way hers was once broken.

What the friends don’t know is that Sebastian is different. Despite his perfect looks and popularity, he’s not a jerk. He doesn’t play games to get his way. Instead, he keeps it real and goes after what he wants with honest intentions. And what he wants is not a bombshell like Jessica, but a down-to-earth girl like Maddie – even if it causes a riff in the girl’s friendship. Even if it means getting Maddie to break her personal vow.

*** Due to language and sexual situations this book is recommended for ages 17 and older. ***

Review

I was totally iffy about reading this book after I read the blurb, but once I started I was in!!  Down for the count... blah blah blah leave me alone so I can read!  You all know exactly what I mean!

Now... about this book, I really did enjoy it!  The characters are well developed and well written.  I was totally inside this story - about halfway through and I was still not sure about Sebastian's actual feelings or how to read him.  Seriously, it was like I was in Maddie's place, right beside her, trying to figure it out with her.  I seriously wasn't sure if he was legit or just a player like we thought.  Ummmm Jessica...  holy shit Jessica!  I hate Jessica!  Totally, seriously hate her, and I have not hated a book character possibly ever...  so I was enthralled with this author's ability to write a character that got this kind of reaction out of me as a reader!  It was great!!  The writing is good, and the flow of the story is awesome.  I really enjoyed the editing - I guess you'd call it - I mean I liked how the stupid shit is left out... Does that make sense?  Some books give you a freaking play by play and it just drags on and on and on without going anywhere... This one doesn't do that and it doesn't feel like I'm missing anything.

Now... the sexy boy in this story Sebastian.  He is soooooooo hot; and it comes through the pages on FIRE (sang like Fall Out Boy's song).
**side note - am I the only one who can no longer say or think the word fire without singing it like FOB does?!  Kind of like Jason Derulo <-- you all know exactly what I'm talking about)

I loved Hunter - so sweet and innocent.  He provided an awesome side in the story for me.

to sum up my thoughts, here is an update from 2/3s into the story:
62% update: ahhhhhhh the suspense is killing me... I know shit is going to hit the fan - it always freaking does with someone like Jessica around - I'm going to lose a finger if I keep biting my nails!

I was like that the entire time reading - like I said it sucked me in and didn't let me go until the end.

Be sure to check this one out!!

Excerpt

“Of course it is. Friends,” again he gave the word a deeper meaning than it should have, “are honest with each other. Right?” “Yeah, honest,” I said under my breath. No one was being honest at this table. I worked on my meal, trying not to look like I was hurrying. I needed to keep my exposure to Sebastian as brief as possible. Rule No.9: Recognize when you’re in over your head.

First reaction after finishing this book:
WTF Janelle!  I have to wait until 2014?!

I’m not going to lie – I was stoked about this book from the minute I hear about it.  I read the blurb and saw the cover and I was soooooooooooooooooooold! **imagine that in the voice of an auctioneer**

I started reading and I had a bit of trouble getting into it, I'm not going to lie about that, but about halfway through it I couldn't stop reading.  I don't know if I was having an off day or what my problem was, but as I look back on it I still don't know why it took me that long to get hooked.  The story was great from page 1.
I really liked the story in this book.  The world is really well developed and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything as the story unfolds and happens in this new world.  I am absolutely in love with how all the characters are interwoven together and how one thing can really just blow everything out of the water for everyone.  I love that Janelle seems to write this effortlessly and have it flow so well together!  Now, speaking of characters, the people in this story are so awesome.  Dinah/Charlotte I liked her.  She is kickass and smart mouthed.  Strong and Independent.  I did like her a lot.  I also like Pete lots :) and put those two together - DAYMN!

Fireworks photo: misc fireworks_zps506d70cc.jpg

Now my favorite person in this book was Bridgette!  I LOVE her!!  I don't know exactly what it is about her, but I was drawn to her from the start - I really liked her.  I love her personality and how she is determined to live her life her way.  Ummm and Roman, holy hot damn, Roman.  He just screams alpha male to me and I really like it ;)

Now the only thing I both love and hate about this book is the ending... OMG – one of the best cliffhangers EVER!  I don't know if I'm going to make it waiting all the way to 2014 but you can bet your ass I will be picking up the next New World book as soon as I freaking can!

Blog Tour Stop - 5 Star Review: Finding Olivia by Micalea Smeltzer

Finding Olivia (Trace + Olivia) - Micalea Smeltzer

Blog Tour Stop Review & Excerpt for

Finding Olivia by Micalea Smeltzer

Description

How far would you go to find yourself?

That’s the question that’s been haunting Olivia Owens for years.

All Olivia has ever wanted to do is live and make mistakes, but her preacher father has made that impossible. She believes that her years at college will be her ticket into the real world and her chance to be wild and spontaneous.

But she’s never been able to do it on her own.

At the start of her sophomore year, she only has four things crossed off her Live List, but that’s all about to change thanks to a chance encounter with Trace Wentworth. She’s about to learn that there’s more to this reformed bad boy than just his looks and panty dropping smile.

Trace can’t explain what it is that draws him to Olivia.

All he knows is that he wants to get to know the girl with the sad smile but sparkle in her eyes.

When she tells him about her list, he knows that this is his chance to get to know Olivia Owens. Trace is determined to show Olivia that she can do all the things she’s ever wanted to do. So, he begins to help her cross things off her list, even the more outlandish requests.

What happens along the way is more than what Olivia or Trace ever expected.

Love, laughs, and a list.

That’s the name of the game when you’re Finding Olivia.

I looked like the minions at the top of this post when I got this ARC.  SOOOOOO not kidding!  I was so excited and totally fangirling over it, and I was not disappointed.  I absolutely love this author and her books, she is amazing!
Now... like all her books, Micalea has written amazing characters with a great story.  You will love these characters and want more more more!  The MCs are awesome & I have to tell you, I absolutely want to read a book about Avery.  I absolutely LOVE her!!
Olivia is a fantastic character.  She is complex and so full of emotions.  I fell in love with her from the start.
Trace is amazing - inside & out.  He has demons, like everyone, but is such a great person.  I loved that Olivia sees that from the beginning.
I love the amount of time that passes during this story - there is no insta-love here.
The story develops at a nice pace and you get to know and understand each character all the way through.  I really love how Micalea writes - her pace is always great and the writing is high quality and really flows well. I'm going to leave you on that note for now, I might come back and update this review as I feel the story and live with it the rest of the week.

Bottom line - check out this book, it's great & I think you will really like it.

here's the deal on this excerpt... I was able to choose from 3 - I know you really want to meet Trace, but he is amazing (inside and out), but the best friend Avery is so awesome.  I wanted you to meet her today, so check out this excerpt from Finding Olivia.  Then enter to win the giveaway.  Then buy the book because it is great!

The dorm room door opened and I hastily stuffed the piece of paper back into my pocket.Avery dropped her backpack on the floor and promptly pulled her hair up into a ponytail.I grabbed my textbook off my bed, and placed it in my lap, pretending to be doing my homework so Avery wouldn’t start questioning me about what I had been doing.I had never explained my list to anyone, let alone shown them, but I was beginning to think differently. Avery was my best friend but I certainly didn’t plan on showing her. She’d try to cross everything off in one night.“Have you heard from Trace?” She asked, sagging into her desk chair, dejectedly. I guessed she’d had a hard time in class. “He texted me,” I shrugged, like it was no big deal.“Annnnd?” She prompted, perking up. “We’re having dinner Friday,” I answered.“Aww, my little Livie is growing up,” Avery cooed, batting her eyes, “and finding herself a man.”“You’re ridiculous,” I rolled my eyes.“What? It’s about time you dated, I was starting to think you were a lesbian, and I should stop changing in front of you,” she smirked.I tossed my pillow at her but she easily deflected it. “Or maybe,” she laughed, “you’re finally shedding that good girl preacher’s daughter image. Let your inner woman out, girl!” She exclaimed. “Let her roar!” She clawed dramatically at the air.I cupped my face in my palm. “Do you think before you speak?”“Rarely,” she grinned. “What do you think you’ll wear for your date?”“First off,” I held up a finger, “it’s not a date. Secondly, do you only think about clothes?”“Oh, it’s a date. And no, sex comes before clothes,” she grinned.“Ugh,” I groaned. “You act like a horny teenage boy.”“And someone sounds jealous,” Avery twirled around in her pink swivel chair. “Of the fact that you’re practically a horny teenage boy? Hardly,” I snorted.“But seriously,” she whined, still twirling, “what are you going to wear?”She finally came to a stop and swayed dizzily.“Probably jeans and a sweatshirt,” I shrugged. Avery made a strangled noise in the back of her throat. “No! You can’t wear that!”“We’ll be in the park and it’s cold out,” I shrugged.“You still can’t wear that! A sweatshirt is completely unsuitable!” She gawked at me like I had grown three heads.“I want to be comfortable,” I reasoned.“You can be comfortable when you’re dead!” She squawked.“Avery,” I rolled my eyes, “don’t be dramatic.”“I am not being dramatic,” she spun in her chair again. “I’m just telling you what everyone with a vagina knows about the rules of dating,” she scoffed. “Everyone, except you, that is,” she added.“Why does there have to be rules?” I groaned. “It’s stupid,” I complained, falling back on my bed, the textbook on my lap falling to the side.“There are rules for the sake of our sanity,” Avery answered, striding across the room and sitting on the end of my bed. I kicked at her with my feet, trying to dislodge her. “I’m wearing a sweatshirt,” I mumbled, “whether you like it or not. I don’t want to be cold.”“Olivia,” she whined, “that’s the point, you’re supposed to get cold, so he can offer you his coat.”I sat up, staring her down. “What is this? The colonial age? I swear, what handbook are you reading this from?” I grumbled.“The one that’s been around since the dawn of time,” she reasoned with a wave of her manicured hands.“And that’s exactly why it needs to be thrown away,” I pointed out. “Women should be able to stand on their own and not depend on a guy. Let alone these stupid rules that are the so-called guide to dating. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”Avery grinned. “I don’t need to depend on a guy. I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I just like to take a ride on their fun stick every now and then.”“Avery!” I blushed. “You did not just say that!”“I did,” she smirked, smoothing a finger over her red lips. “I love how when I say dirty things your little virgin ears turn red.”I reached up, grabbing my ears. “They do not!”“Oh, they do,” she nodded, grinning. “Back to the important matter at hand, these rules are a means to getting laid. To a guy, a sweatshirt is like practically wearing a chastity belt, telling him that these goods are not for sale.”“Oh my God,” I buried my face in my hands, my hair falling around me. “When did this turn into a mission for me to get laid? Besides, my goods are definitely not for sale.”“Girl, you’re a sophomore in college, who’s still a virgin. This has always been a mission to get you some sex, some great sex, and Trace is just the guy to do it. I can tell. It’s in the way he walks.”I let my hands drop. “I’m not a virgin.”“What? I thought you-”“Remember last year, at that party you dragged me to?” I asked.Avery’s mouth formed a perfect O. “No! Olivia! Not that guy! He looked like an ape!”“He was pretty hairy,” I snorted.Avery shuddered. “There’s no way that was a pleasant experience.”“It wasn’t,” I shrugged. “Is it supposed to be?”She looked at me like I had completely gone off my rocker this time. “Yes! It’s supposed to be amazing!”“It lasted like two minutes, how is that amazing?” I asked, avoiding Avery’s gaze by scrunching the bottom of my shirt in my hands. Avery’s eyes threatened to bug out of her head. “Two minutes? That’s it?!”“Well, yeah,” I shrugged.“Oh, girl, you can do sooooo much better than that,” Avery chuckled. “So much better,” she reiterated.“What did you mean by, it’s in the way he walks?” I asked.“What?” She asked, looking down at her hot pink nails.“You said that you could tell Trace would be good in bed, that it’s in the way he walks,” I repeated her earlier statement.“Oh!” She exclaimed. “Some guys have this walk they do. They don’t even know they’re doing it. If my experience speaks for anything, every guy that I’ve been with, that has the walk, knows exactly what he’s doing.” She rolled her hips and licked her lips to further drive home her point. “Trust me, Olivia, Trace can show you a good time.”I hid my face behind my hands again. “I think I’ve reached my sex talk quota for the day.”“Whatever,” Avery hopped up from my bed, scampering to her side of the room, “you suck.”I turned my attention back to the homework I really needed to finish, and forced myself to stop thinking about Trace’s walk, and wondering if Avery was right.

Interrogation Techniques: The Smooth Talker

Appearances are always deceiving.  And I do mean always.  I met Declan Sullivan over three years ago, and it never ceases to amaze me how quickly he can sweet talk anyone into getting anything he wants.  Absolutely anything.  The guy’s a pro.  A cocky one at that.  He can talk a young woman on the verge of taking her vows of celibacy at a convent to throw caution to the wind and shout “Fuck It!” Or better yet,“PLEASE FUCK ME”.  Riley and I actually had a bet with him that he couldn’t pull that one off.  We lost a hundred bucks, each.  But that story is for a different time.        Declan, Riley, and I first met in what some would call an “Interview” process for our current employer, the Ex Ops Team.  But don’t think we all sat around in suits and ties answering routine questions about what we thought our best qualities were.  No,actually it was a bunch of aptitude and PT testing.  How fast can you run ten miles?  How fast can you put bullet holes in these targets?  If captured by the enemy, will you scream like a little bitch, or man up and remain silent?  By the way, does this ink blob look like just an ink blob, or do you images in the blob that may mean you’re just a tad psychotic?        If you want a more visual reference, think of the movie ‘Armageddon’ and the process the drillers went through in order to go into space times ten on steroids.  That would be about right.  Anyway, I got paired with Declan right off the bat. The guy had me spilling my guts about my past within the hour.  The Sneaky bastard.  But, I guess if you have to bare all to at least one person in your life, wouldn't it be to the one guy whom you know that would have your back in the most dangerous situations?       After we’d all been through a full day of push ups, pistols and pushy ass drill sergeant wannabe’s, I was directed to wait in a room at the end of the hall until our “interview” could go on to the next stage.  Opening the door to said room, I found Declan waiting in a shabby conference room that had dust motes attacking every surface in full force, causing my nose to twitch so I wouldn’t sneeze.  I walked in and watched him pushing the dust around with the tip of his finger.  He must have been bored because he was instructing someone to “clean me” in the dust topped shitty looking table he was sitting in front of in a wood paneled room with dim lighting.  Declan looked up at me, ran his eyes over from head to toe before going back to my face, and then shook his head before going back to his masterpiece.  I didn’t even make it to my seat before he said, “Read you like a book, man.”      Suddenly on guard, I asked. “Really? And what is it that you think you see Sullivan?”      “You're lost bro. Simply lost.”  Waving a finger around in the air pointed in my direction,“Well, at least your part of you is.” I looked down at myself, noted everything was still intact and in working order, and then shot him a puzzled look. “I think you got a screw loose. I’m not lost man.” Declan leaned towards me over the table and looked me straight in the eyes. “Dude, you’ve got to be shitting me. Trust me, I’ve seen that look before. You’re lost, and you’ve been trying to find your way back for a long ass time from the looks of it.”  Moving away so that he was sprawled in a lazy manner in his chair, he folded his hands over his flat stomach and gave me a look I imagine most Psychiatrists gave their patients. “So why don’t you tell me all about this girl that’s been plaguing your mind.”       I couldn’t help but laugh at him for his elaborate change in accent so that he now had a strong Irish parody in his otherwise surfer boy dialogue.       Shaking my head, and giving a mirthless laugh in total disbelief that this guy had in fact read me like a book.“Well, her name is Belle.”

My Review:

So... like I said, I loved this book and I really think you will too!  These characters are awesome and the story line seriously blew me away.

I connected with these characters from the beginning and was totally in love with Belle & Bobby (better known as Ace).  Their past completely shaped their present and I couldn't have asked for better twists and Holy Shit moments throughout this story!  Seriously - I was taken away to their world through the entire book, heartbroken a few times by each of them, and completely in love with the story from the first paragraph.  I love all the different people in this book - the Ex Ops team especially - I love their interaction with Bobby.  They are his family and who he goes to ... well at least who he listens to for advice, even though most of it is unsolicited.  Each person in this book is complicated and tough and smart.  You are shown this story from both sides, Belle and Bobby, and I absolutely LOVED this aspect of the book.

The writing in this book has only improved from the previous works I've read from this author.  The flow was really really good and the pace was great.  I have been finding myself bored with some of my reads and that they are lagging and stalling out for me - that was SO NOT the case with Secret Maneuvers!  I couldn't put it down and didn't even take time to post updates on GR like I normally do.  Yep... I was so into this book that I didn't even update on GR or any type of social media - shocking right!?  Based on that alone, you know you need to read this book!  Plus it's a series and look at that cover - it's HOT.
Need I go on... didn't think so.

I am soooooooooooo looking forward to the next books in this series!  I can't wait to see the other stories that are coming!!

I have loved this author since I first read their YA novel The Burning Star (that review is right here) and each book I've read from Jessie Lane since has just gotten better.  So please check out this author!!

Now... I am going to leave you with my impressions through this story via gif!  You know how much I just love them so...

About the Author:

Jessie Lane is the writing team of Melissa Pahl and Crystal Leo. The two sisters-in-law share a passionate love of naughty romance, cliff hanging suspense, and out-of-this-world characters that demand your attention, or threaten to slap you around until you do pay attention to them. Because really, it is ALL about the characters. (They're kind of megalomaniacs - but don't tell them that we said that.)

Crystal and Melissa often live half their lives with their heads in the clouds dreaming of alpha military hunks, werewolves and kick ass heroines crazy enough to chase after creatures that they unquestionably should know better than to chase.

Their first YA novel, The Burning Star, was released in May 2012. Big Bad Bite is their second novel, but their first adult paranormal romance. They are now working on their next two novels, Walk On The Striped Side and Secret Maneuvers. With these projects underway, they are looking forward to showing the rest of the world their crazy stories, heroes and heroines that often plague their minds until written, and hope you will join them on their journey!

until next time,  xo jen

Summary from Goodreads:

“I like you.” His voice is low and soft, which I don’t deserve. I look away, down the rutted parking lot.
“Don’t…waste those words on me.”
He touches my cheek. “You just need someone to show you.”
“No.” I ease back again. “I don’t. So please, Torrin, stop trying to swoop in and save me. I don’t need saving.”

College freshman Quinn Montgomery will do anything to avoid the mistake her sister made—killing herself over a boy. But when she is forced into nude modeling at a local college to support her family after a bankruptcy, she begins to crack, just enough to let Torrin, the university’s top varsity oarsman, see that the real Quinn is not as feisty and unapproachable as she wants everyone to think. But letting someone in comes at a steep cost and, it turns out, Torrin is connected to Quinn’s family in more ways than she could ever imagine.

I'm waffling-its true....

good characters great story really emotional
I was invested in it
I'm iffy on the ending... that's my sticking point

My Review

So I'm going with 4.5 stars only because I'm being stingy this evening... I really enjoyed reading this book and I was totally invested in the characters and the story. The ending sealed the deal for me - I almost wish it was a cliff rather than a real ending, but then I would just be complaining about that - damn me... there's no pleasing me ;) Seriously though, the end was nicely done - I'd love to see what comes next for them but it isn't like I'm feeling like "OMG - I'm going to die if I don't" because the end was nicely done.

I really liked the writing and the author's style in this book. I will most definitely be reading more from her as I find it.

I of course love the New Adult genre and this fits lovely into my new obsession :D I would recommend this to readers who like books with drama and romance and twists - of course you need to be a little older to read this - I'm not your mother, but this is a mature content book - so please pay attention and heed the warning.

Review : Undeclared by Jen Frederick

Undeclared - Jen Frederick

I told you all yesterday that I was soooooooooo excited about getting this review copy... well I already finished reading it!

I know right!  I was up until 2 AM last night and literally killed both my Kindle Fire and my iPad before I finally went to bed, begrudgingly I might add...  ;)

Horrible little habit I have, but soooooooooooooooooo **breath** ooooooooooooooooo worth it!

Here we go:

Book Blurb from GR:

For four years, Grace Sullivan wrote to a Marine she never met, and fell in love. But when his deployment ended, so did the letters. Ever since that day, Grace has been coasting, academically and emotionally. The one thing she’s decided? No way is Noah Jackson — or any man — ever going to break her heart again.

Noah has always known exactly what he wants out of life. Success. Stability. Control. That’s why he joined the Marines and that’s why he’s fighting his way — literally — through college. Now that he’s got the rest of his life on track, he has one last conquest: Grace Sullivan. But since he was the one who stopped writing, he knows that winning her back will be his biggest battle yet.

My Review:
Let me start off by saying I am so excited that this is not a stand alone!  I can't wait for the next installment!  I loved the world that Jen Frederick was able to create and the characters in it.  She seems to have an effortless way of crafting her characters that I really really loved.  The flow of her writing was really nice, I didn't reread or get bored - which is kind of obvious since I was up so late reading it.
moving on to the good stuff...  this book has some HOT scenes in it!  This is a debut for this author so I wasn't sure what to expect exactly on the steam factor, but WOW - it was niiiiiiiiiiiiice.
These characters like I said earlier were really great - I actually cared about them...  Noah more so than Grace but by the end of the book I was loving Grace as well.  It took the journey she went on for me to feel fully invested in her, but that's the point of reading a good book, right?!  I absolutely love Noah - he is so complicated and so emotional and yet not... confusing right, well read the book - you'll know what I mean.
I don't want to say much more because I don't want to spoil anything for you - because I know you all will love this book when you pick it up next week on Wednesday, 5/1!
I will leave you with possibly my favorite quote from the book... enjoy:

"I know that your greatest fear is that you aren't good enough.  But you are.  You are the best kind of person, Noah.  ... You are even better than Odysseus because he was an imaginary character dreamt up by some writer.  You are real.  And amazing."

Full Review:

This story was more than I expected.  I really expected a sexy NA story with a hot guy and a cute girl, but what I got was a lot more.  Of course Ben is amazing – looks, heart, ambition – he has it all, really he does, but he also has his head on straight.  I really liked getting to see from his perspective some of the time.  Georgia – well she’s a whole bunch of mixed up emotions and nerves, and where normally her traits but the shit out of me while reading a story, I really liked her.  I felt for her and really really wanted her to open up and let Ben in.  Alas… she didn’t and therein is our story – and a good story it is!  Georgia, or G, as her brother Matt calls her, which I love by the way, had a rough go of it and through her eyes you see her and Ben.  I love characters that don’t see themselves clearly and don’t think they deserve the love interest in the story…  I don’t know why but I really like that aspect in my stories.  This book I actually found myself rereading parts after I finished the book, not because I didn’t understand what happened but because I liked certain parts so much.  Like I said in my short – this story is sexy like you normally see in NA books, but this story has a certain raw and gritty feel.  G is truly one of the most emotionally challenged characters I’ve read and Ben is just consumed by his feelings, which was awesome!  Georgia works through her emotions like a normal person – however I did find myself screaming at her to “for the love of god… just tell him!  LET HIM IN!!” – But that’s just me and my I want everyone happy complex … … …

Without giving away everything – I have to say I absolutely LOVE that Georgia decides that she needs to take care of herself and is brave enough to put it all out there and walk away if necessary.  I love love love how this part of the series ends.  I will most definitely be keeping an eye on the next book for a description, a teaser, anything to see who it is about and what to expect!

I say go check this book out because it is damn good …

Excerpt:

“Do you feel this?” he whispered hoarsely.  “You have to feel this. It can’t just be me.  There’s no fucking way it can just be me.”
My mouth was open but nothing came out.  I felt all of it. Every. Single. Bit of it.
And then his hand slid behind my neck, cradling me just above my shoulders, his long fingers moving over my body with a hunger and an urgency that I matched. I might have moaned, in fact, I’m sure I did because his eyes widened, and his lips parted.
I felt…I felt crazy but without the crazy.
It was the anticipation.  It was all the moments and seconds and minutes that had passed between us over the last few days.  It was that first time I’d glanced over my shoulder and spied him in Matt’s loft.  It was his breath at my cheek the night before.  It was want.
It was all of that and so much more.
“I feel you,” I whispered.
And then his hot, demanding mouth was on mine, and that so much more, became suddenly clear.
It was everything.

My Thoughts:

I love this author’s writing!  She is just soooooooooo good at what she does.

My first thought when I finished reading this was…
WHY DID I NOT READ THIS IN OCTOBER WHEN IT WAS RELEASED?!
**yes in caps because I literally yelled at myself**

I loved that I didn't need a refresh on Night Walker to love this book – it is a completely separate story.  IMO, you don’t have to read Night Walker first…  If you want an easy, fast, fun, and well written story look no further – pick this book up.
What else… oh I loved Kane – he is awesome – hands down, one of my favorites <3 old school swoon right there!  Marguerite is strong and I really liked that about her.  There is action and romance all over this story.  I was so not expecting the twist regarding her day job at all!!

4 very solid stars for this novella – you should check it out

Review in a few words:

Awesome Characters | Brothers | Hot Boys | Sexy Story | Well Developed

Review Details:

Men who can cook… and are sexy as hell… and have tats… and ride motorcycles… whelp yes all of that is in this book – need I say more?!  I thought not ;)

Jack Vaughn and his brothers are delicious – smart, sexy, amazing, etc etc etc.  I can’t wait to read the other three stories in this series.

I absofuckinglutely loved Sterling as well – she is awesome!  She’s funny, strong, determined, vulnerable, and beautiful in an unassuming way.  I want to be her friend!  I loved that she stepped outside her comfort zone and was soooooooo rewarded for it.  She figured out through the story what she really wanted and what she really needed – from a guy and from herself.  I love that this story, although totally sexy and delicious, was really about a woman and a man figuring themselves out.

Ummmm…. Lemme see – I can’t say too much more since I don’t want to spoil this for you all!  I will give you a few of my favorite quotes from the story, along with a little song that I had running through my head the ENTIRE story.  Trust me – read it and you’ll figure it out ;)

Quote #1 from page 92 of my Review Galley:

“She needed to get back on her own horse.  And boy did she need someone to saddle her up good.  And fast.  And hard.  And – shut it, Sterling.  Pull up your professional pants and get back to work.”
This just had me laughing so hard – out loud might I add – I just loved Sterling’s internal dialogue <3

Quote #2 from page 96 of my Review Galley:

“He grabbed at the neck of his shirt and pulled it over his head.
Sweet.  Mother.  Mary.  So worth it.”

Now, this is out of context here but I can’t give you all of it since it would tell you too much – let me just tell you this… Sterling is thinking this, not saying it, about Jack.

Quote #3 from page 81 of my Review Galley:

“He was sex on a stick and she wanted to lick him like a lollipop”

This is what prompted the song below to run through my head the entire story… oh and this is kind of a random video… the song actually starts at 2:15 into the video, but check it out…

In a nut shell:

Complex | Great Characters | Lies | History | Loved It

My Rating:

4.5 stars

Details:

I devoured this book in a matter of hours!  I am such a dork, but at least I admit it – I read this book on New Year’s Eve…  It was a really good read and I honestly felt for the characters.  Robin Bielman is a fantastic write – LOVE HER – she is able to take a few delicate subjects and weave them into a wonderful story that I really do think everyone will love.
Not going to lie – these characters while I love them, got on my nerves… but that’s what made them seem like real people – seriously – like people I could know and be friends with.
I loved how this book was written split between both Lyric and Quinn – I loved how different and yet how similar they really are.  I loved the tension between them & the always present chemistry.  It was like a living thing between them – so think and awesome – LOVED IT!  My favorite part of this story is watching them both learn something – each character has to face something that needs to be addressed… not comfortable, but it has to be done.  The pace of this book was nice – not too fast & not too slow.  The flow and the writing of this book, as I said before I loved, I was into this story by the second page and didn't stop reading until the end.  And even then I would have loved to see what happened next.

Happy New Year ;)

My Review:

Holy Hot Shit Batman!  This book was goooooooooooooooooooood!
It is just as hot as the cover suggests - seriously!

I love that we get to see inside both Brady and Joss's heads... I absolutely LOVE Brady!  He is damaged and kind and sweet and good but doesn't think he deserves love from anyone or a future with anyone.  Joss is also damaged but she still wants what everyone wants...  a future, someone forever, a family.

I love how these two characters meet - and that fact the Joss is reading a freaking SEALs book is so fantastic!  Joss won my heart the minute it was mentioned she was reading a romance book based on SEALs and then again when she describes how books are so important to her.  LOVE HER!

Joss is so strong and yet so vulnerable   She is hard as nails on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside - I love all her tattoos and how she explains each of them in the book.  I totally love her - I want to be her friend!  I love these characters and their interaction so much.  Joss is so snarky and Brady is just a huge pain in the ass... but he seems to understand Joss and he sees through the exterior and past all the defenses and see Joss.

Of course this book is from Brazen, so it has steamy parts and WOW can Laura Kaye write that stuff!  The scenes in this book are some of the hotest I've read in a while...  They were delicious!  <3

I can't leave you without showing you who I see as Brady & Joss...  so here we go
(if you click on the pictures it will take you to where I found them online)

Brady

I had to use Channing... I couldn't see anyone else the entire book and well I just love him.

Joss

Sadly, I don't know who this person is :( but she is perfect for Joss.

This Love

(University of Branton #1)

by Nazarea Andrews

Description

She wants a summer job and a ride to a wedding.

He wants an assistant and a distraction from the mess his life had become.

They didn't know they needed each other.

Avery Emili needs two grand. Two grand and a plane ticket--her sister is counting on her to get to Jamaica for her wedding. But the semester is over, and tutoring college freshman and high school students has dried up until the fall.

Atticus Grimes needs help--the messy split with his wife left the twenty-eight year old professor scrambling to keep things together as the semester winds down. Now he's got a research grant he has to actually do research for and all he wants to do is drown himself in a tall bottle of bourbon.

When Avery sees his ad for an assistant, all she's thinking is a summer job. But as they spend time together, in the office and out, both of them begin to realize something is there. Something that can't happen--he's a professor and she's a student. And both of them have histories, pasts that won’t let go. Can two broken people pulled apart by expectations find a way to be whole?

Review

I didn’t really read this blurb again before I started reading this book, so I had no real idea what I was getting into.  I do know that I loved the character names as soon as I started reading.  Is that weird?  I don’t know… anyhow, I really loved Atticus from the start.  It doesn’t seem like I’ve read a lot of books that have the guy’s story laid out from pretty much the beginning.  Usually it is the girl we are introduced to first and hear all about her story from the beginning.  I felt the opposite in this book.  I don’t think I’ve really noticed that before in a book – at least not that I can remember… so take that for what it is.
These characters I liked, for the most part.  I wanted to shake her a few times, but what can you do – women are a pain in the butt most of the time.
Don't look at me like that - we are, you all know it.
Now on to the technicalities... Writing in this book is really solid.  I had no trouble following the story.  It was complicated and emotional.  It followed really well together.  The POVs were clearly marked and really easy to distinguish.  Overall, quality is super high and the writing style is really enjoyable.

**side note**
I have to say I am in love with Dane!  I know he is a secondary in this book, but he intrigues me to no end.  I want to know more about him and I really want to know more about the relationship between he and Atti’s sister, Scout.  Even though she is a hot mess, I think I will really like her.  I have been looking around and was able to read a little of their story as a teaser in the end of my review copy of This Love.  SO you know I will be hunting down a copy of  Beautiful Broken when it comes out this month... you should too!
**

I think anyone who likes contemporary romance, especially new adult, will really enjoy this book.
Check it out, add it to your TBR, and get your copy picked up!

Review

Ok, so you might be thinking this is just your run of the mill NA Contemporary story, but you'd be WRONG!

**buzzer**

I really enjoyed this book.  It has a good story line full of surprise and touching moments.  These characters are really good together.  I was surprised by how much I really did like them.  Now, I love baseball so this was totally right up my alley - who doesn't love a hot baseball player!?  No one, that's right... Anyway - I was in love with how strong Everly is from the beginning.  She is tough as nails and keeps her shit together - no matter what she seems to be faced with.  She's had a rough go at life but hasn't seemed to let it beat her, which I love.  Cole is amazingly hot in my head & on the page.  He seems to actually have his life together, which is surprising given the beginning of story... now, I'm not saying he isn't a dumbass or a dork, but for the most part, I really liked him. Just a few tidbits on the beginning of this book - I absolutely LOVE how thrown Cole is by Everly when they first meet.  I thought it was hilarious that he was so bothered by his brother getting her attention over him.  I mean come on - she knows him and not you... can we say EGO.  I also thought it was awesome how Cole observed Everly in the restaurant - how he noticed things no one else saw.  And Everly - god I loved how she was calm and professional when they met but on the inside was fangirling it just like anyone else would over him.  LOVED IT! I really like the switching POV of this book.  The author does a really really nice job on the flow and keeping everything consistent.  Her writing style is really well done & I think anyone will enjoy it and this book. This book is full of surprises and special little moments, but I don't want to spoil anything for you all so I'm going to leave it there, but you really should pick up this book. I think you'll enjoy it!

5+ GOLD Star Review: Out of Line by Jen McLaughlin

Out of Line - Jen McLaughlin, Diane Alberts

Out Of Line

by Jen McLaughlin

Description

Desperate to break free…

I've spent my entire life under my father’s thumb, but now I'm finally free to make my own choices. When my roommate dragged me to my first college party, I met Finn Coram and my life turned inside out. He knows how to break the rules and is everything I never knew I wanted. A Marine by day and surfer by night, he pushes me away even as our attraction brings us closer. Now I am finally free to do whatever I want. I know what I want. I choose Finn.

Trying to play by the rules...

I always follow orders. My job, my life, depends on it. I thought this job would be easy, all the rules were made crystal clear, but when I met Carrie Wallington, everything got muddy. She's a rule I know I shouldn't break, but damn if I don’t inch closer to the breaking point each time I see her. I’m ready to step out of line. And even worse? I’m living a lie. They say the truth will set you free, but in my case…

The truth will cost me everything.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK!
This book is between 5 Stars and the Amaze-balls Rating... just saying - it was awesome and I really liked it... that's it - I'm making it Golden Star - Amaze-balls!
ok as you can tell - I really liked this book.  This is actually the first book I've read from this author (both names) **faces of shock** I know right... well I am in love with her writing.  She has amazing skills!  The flow is fantastic, the pace is great and the entire thing just goes.  I really couldn't put it down. These characters are awesome, and I immediately was loving this story.  I know it's been done before, but seriously, I felt like it was all brand new.  Props to the author for making characters that are not broken!  I love stories with broken characters, I really do, but it was so nice to have good ol' regular folks in this story.  I mean they have issues, but we all do... don't get me wrong, but nothing catastrophic and I was so happy!  This story alternates POV between Carrie and Finn - it works really well in this story. Now... you know I am a sucker for a man in uniform and W-O-W Finn does not disappoint!  He is sooooooooooooo good.  I really fell in love with Carrie as well.  She is strong and really wants to be independent.  She is smart and well spoken.
Here's a note from my journal that I keep while reading.  This one is from Carrie's POV: "Finn fell silent, but he looked at me weird. As if I was an enigma he couldn't figure out, which was silly.  It was a simple matter.  I had money they didn't.  Easily fixed.  It wasn't exactly rocket science" I love that she doesn't see how special she really is... Also love that without trying she is proving Finn wrong over and over again with his assumptions about her.
I fell for these characters from the beginning.  I really did like how the played off each other and worked together and developed.  They evolved into what happens - it just works. I'm still working on calming down from the end - seriously, it's fantastic & leaves you wanting more!  There's a little cliffy ending, but it doesn't kill you just leaves you wanting more.  I'm pretty satisfied with this ending - I don't want to rip my hair out or anything, but I can't wait to read the next installment!

This book gave me feels - all kinds of feels!  Here are some samples of my notes on my feels:

early in the book from Finn's POV "She taunted me daily, without even trying.  I wanted her. Too bad I couldn't have her." Finn's heartache over Carrie - god I feel it too ;'( About 75% through the book Ah god ... My heart hurts for them both! About 90% through the book from Carrie's POV "He made a choking sound. 'You don't have to answer.  I can see it in your eyes.' 'I'm so sorry,' my voice a mere whisper.  It's all I could manage past my aching throat. He swallowed hard.  'I love you, will always love you.  I'm sorry I killed us before we even had a chance.' And with that bombshell, he shut the door in my face." :'(  I can't blame her, but GAAAAAAAH - my heart says one more chance too At the finish of this book from Finn's POV "I hit the play message button ...  When it ended, I let my hand fall to my side.  Fuck.  This wasn't going to be good ..." Whhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaat!  Who called & What's happening!   I can't wait for 2014!

I think you should check this book out - Fans of NA & Contemporary will love it.

Unspoken - Jen Frederick

UNSPOKEN

by Jen Frederick

Description

Whore. Slut. Typhoid Mary.

I've been called all these at Central College. One drunken night, one act of irresponsible behavior, and my reputation was ruined. Guys labeled me as easy and girls shied away.  To cope, I stayed away from Central social life and away from Central men, so why is it that my new biology lab partner is so irresistible to me?

He's everything I shouldn't want. A former Marine involved in illegal fighting with a quick trigger temper and an easy smile for all the women. His fists aren't the danger to me, though, it's his charm. He's sliding his way into my heart and I'm afraid that he's going to be the one to break me.

Impulsive. Unthinking. Hot tempered.

I allow instinct to rule my behavior. If it feels good, do it, has been my motto because if I spend too much time thinking, I'll begin to remember exactly where I came from. At Central College, I've got fighting and I've got women and I thought I was satisfied until I met her.

She's everything I didn't realize I wanted and the more time I spend with her, the more I want her. But she's been hurt too much in the past and I don't want to be the one to break her. I know I should walk away, but I just can't.

Review

God I just love this series!  I absolutely loved Undeclared and didn't think Unspoken could top it, but OH MY GOSH, it is sooooooooo good!  As you can see I got a review copy for this tour stop, but I had to go out and get my very own copy as soon as it was released - I loved it sooooooooo much!  I will be picking up a paperback as well - so should you! I love how this real difficult topic is handled and how easily the story reads.  You will fall in love with these characters just as I have, I promise.   Just like with Undeclared, the writing in this book is great.  Everything flows flawlessly and the style seems effortless.  I loved everything about this book.  I really like how you get to meet more of The Woodlands Guys... you really get to peak inside their world a little in this installment and see how they all work together and a little bitty bit of some story out of them.  I can't wait to see more about each of them. Now more about this installment - LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!  I loved this story from the beginning - no kidding!  I was sucked in on page one and wasn't available to anyone while I was reading... seriously, my family didn't like this book because I was oblivious to the real world - SUCKED ME RIGHT IN!  I read this book in two settings, only because I had to come to work... yep otherwise I would have been dead to the world while I finished reading. Characters - they are great, both of them.  I love how you have both male and female characters in this book and they are both awesome.  Usually you have one really strong and the other not so much, but not in this book!  AnnMarie, "AM", is amazing.  She's skittish and brave at the same time, emotional inside but a stone cold exterior like nothing bothers her.  I think so many girls/women will identify with AM.  She is plagued by the aftermath of a decision she made and rumors that resulted from it.  I love that this is the story of AnnMarie and her learning to live again.  Bo is just like AnnMarie in many ways.  They both pretend, they both learn a lot through this journey.  I love them together!  I absolutely LOVE that they are friends before anything develops for them.  And just that - their relationship DEVELOPS!  It is awesome to watch happen.  I love how much Bo is seeing about AM without her even knowing it, of course she does the same after a while too. I just love this unexpected pair and their journey through the book.

LOVE IT - Go get it and check them out!

side note - yes this is the second installment, but you don't have to read Undeclared to get Unspoken.  You should read them both, but you can read them out of order and be ok.

Rating & Review

Ok so I loved this book - even more than the first, In A Heartbeat, which I absolutely devoured and fell in love with!
You guys are going to love this book - it is full of fun, emotion, swoonworthy boys, and action I totally didn't see coming.

Ivy is great - a little damaged - but completely awesome.  I felt for her from the beginning and I wanted to know her story so badly.  I loved and hated and wanted to yell at her a lot in this book, but I understood her and her story.

Taron is awesome - I actually think I might like him a little more than his brother Talon.  He is so passionate and emotional.  He is dark and fun and funny and raw all at the same time.  He literally stole my breath a few times in this story.

The writing is good - the flow rocked.  I devoured this book - possibly one of the easiest reads I have had this year.  The story is complicated and heartfelt.  It is raw in portions and an awesome visceral experience.
You will be pulled in from the start.

There are several songs I thought of while riding along the story with this book.  The first song I thought of and possibly one of my favorites is "Problem" from the album Trouble by Natalia Kills.

So check it out - you'll like it!

Heaven Sent

by Hilary Storm

~One~

Ivy

He is everywhere. In my thoughts. In my dreams. In my air.  I’m trying to fight my attraction to Taron, but my heart doesn’t seem to listen to my mind.  I know it’s a disaster waiting to happen if I give in, yet I still keep thinking of the possibilities.  He has a past.  So do I. He loves to flirt.  So do I. He will be leaving to go on tour tomorrow.  I won’t. He was there for me when I thought I lost my best friend.  The title ‘best friend’ doesn’t really do what we have justice.  Eaven is my sister.  We may come from different blood, but in all aspects that count we are family.  A couple of months ago Eaven was kidnapped and driven into the river by her boyfriend’s ex.  Taron never left my side the entire time we were searching for her or when she was recovering in the hospital.  He has been to my apartment to check on me daily since Eaven has been staying with Talon to recover. Don’t get me wrong.  He has continuously made advances toward me since we found out Eaven was going to be ok.  He flirts non-stop, but I’m a girl who likes all of that attention.  I just don’t want to share my attention with other girls. I have to decide if I can handle sharing him before I give myself to him completely.  After all he is the lead singer in the band ‘Rebel Walking’.  They are going to be gone more on tour now.  This will be their second time to go on tour with main stream bands.  They were such a huge success the first time, they were chosen to be the opening band at every single one of ‘Beckoning Reality’s‘ concerts.  I heard all of the details from Taron when he called to check on me while he was away on the first tour. I’ve managed to fight him off until this point, but I’m sure since he leaves in the morning, he will be trying extra hard tonight to get me to cave. Smitty has kicked off a celebration to send the band off in style.  It looks like everyone has shown up to see the band one last time.  This place is packed. Eaven and I went shopping for new outfits this week.  She wants to look exceptional tonight since she is sending her fiancé off for four weeks.  She is just recently engaged to Talon and they are perfect for each other.  I am so excited that she found someone who makes her happy and treats her right.  He just happens to look identical to the guy that I am fighting myself to not like.  Talon and Taron Walker are identical twins.  The story of the two sisters falling in love with twin bad boys is one that never comes true.  I look over and see Taron at the band’s reserved table talking to his twin.  My eyes shift to his broad shoulders and the dark, tight shirt that doesn’t leave much to the imagination.  I’ve been in his arms a few times and I know that his chest and stomach are sculpted and just as defined as the shirt makes it appear.  He has dark hair, almost black.  He wears it messy so that it looks like he just got out of bed.  The look really works for him.  I know that he does put effort into his hair because I have been stuck waiting on him to get ready. He jumps up to pester his older brother Holden and I begin to appreciate the view of his ass in those jeans.  His jeans hang just right, just the way I love to see.  I’ve never let him know that I appreciate how he looks.  He would never let me live it down if I did. Eaven leaves me to make her way to Talon.  I see Taron begin to search the room as soon as he sees her arrive.  He spots me and starts to look me up and down.  His eyes never leave me as he stalks across the room. “Poison Ivy!  It is such a pleasure to see you out for the kill tonight.”  He takes his index finger and runs it down my chest and into the valley of my cleavage causing my shirt to lower.  He stops just before he exposes me. “Do you want to lose that finger?”  I really want him to continue, but I would never tell him that. “I would love for you to take my entire finger.”  He removes his digit from my chest and I know his meaning behind his reply.  He has never been shy about his sexual desire with me. “In your dreams.”  I turn away from him to begin my walk to the table.  He stops me after only a few steps.  He grabs my hips and holds me against him.  I can feel him invading my space again.  He is consuming all of my senses.  He leans down to whisper in my ear. “Yea that pretty much sums it up.” My body heats up as his breath blows past my ear.  The sensation sends a shiver through my body and heat straight to my core.  He holds me so close that I can feel how much he wants me as it presses into my backside. “When are you going to quit playing hard to get?  You know we will be hot together.  You know you want what only I can give you.”  He begins to sway back and forth with the music. I want what he is offering me so much.  I want to let go and ride the roller coaster that is Taron.  I know there will be ups and downs.  I just don’t know if I can hang on until the end and exit the ride safely.  I don’t know if he will break my heart. Usually I don’t let myself get attached to a guy.  We have fun and then say our goodbyes.  Taron managed to work his way into my life in a way that we are so beyond a simple affair without strings.  I just don’t know if he is capable of what I want. I want him.  All of him.  To myself.  No sharing.  “I don’t want to share,” I say through the lump in my throat. “I don’t have any intentions of sharing you.”  He flips me around to face him.  He guides my arms over his shoulders and slowly drags his hands back down my arms, down my sides, and then around my waist.  He flattens both of his hands out on my butt cheeks and presses me further into him.  We continue to sway with the music. I look into his eyes.  I can see desire.  I can see the same heat that I feel.  I decide to give in.  I pull him down to meet my lips.  He doesn’t waste any time joining my tongue.  I know he is a great kisser.  We have already established the hot chemistry between us once before.  He continues to press himself into me and the pressure makes me crave more of him. “Spend the night with me.”  He is begging me through the tone of his voice. I bow my head in thought and he kisses my forehead.  He uses his large hands to guide my head back up to look at him.  He closes his eyes as he nears me and begins to softly kiss my lips.  This gentle side of him is my undoing. “My place isn’t as crowded.  I’m pretty sure you won’t want your brothers to hear what I have planned for you.”  I nibble on his bottom lip as I pull away from his lips. “Fuuuuccckk Me.”  He has a huge smile on his face.  “I have to sing a few songs and then you are mine.”  He holds me tight until the rest of the band has taken the stage.  When Talon and Luke start to play, he finally releases me.  “Don’t go anywhere.  I want to watch you while I am on stage.” I stay exactly where he leaves me.  I enjoy the songs so much more this time.  It seems like he is singing them directly to me.  His eyes are intense and he never really looks anywhere but at me.  The crowd is still going wild trying to get his attention.  Panties and bras are thrown up at him, but he never averts his attention away from me. I feel someone up against my back and I turn to see who is standing this close to me.  It’s Dylan.  His job relocated him a couple of months back.  We went out a couple of times, but we weren’t exclusive. “Hey Dylan.”  I smile at him and place my hand on his arm stepping sideways just a little to give myself some room. “Ivy.  How is my girl?”  The way he just said my girl irritates me.  He grips my arm very tightly and I yank it from his grip.  What the hell is his problem? “I am not anyone’s girl.” Aiden is next to me in a matter of seconds.  Aiden and I have been friends since we met.  In the beginning he wanted to be more than friends.  I think he finally realized that my feelings for Taron are much deeper than I let on and he backed off.  He started dating another girl, but we still talk daily.  We sometimes meet for dinner or drinks when he has time.  He is pure country.  He is pure country cowboy with a perfect gentleman demeanor. “Get your hands off of Ivy.”  Aiden is in Dylan’s face the instant he can be. “You got a problem, cowboy?”  Dylan pushes Aiden back. “Lay a hand on a girl and you are the one with a big problem.  It will be the last time you use your hands.”  Aiden is dead serious with his threat.  “Let’s take this outside.”  The cowboys surround Dylan. Taron busts through the crowd that has surrounded us.  He slams into Dylan’s chest with the rage of a fighter.  His force slams Dylan to the ground.  Taron has his arm pressing into Dylan’s throat causing him to gasp for air. “You touch her again, motherfucker, and I will personally make sure that you never live to see tomorrow.”  It takes four guys to pull Taron off of Dylan.  The cowboys escort Dylan out of the bar and Taron is outraged. “What the fuck!”  He begins to yell in anger. “Chill out brother.”  Talon attempts to calm his twin down. “What did he say to you?  Why is he grabbing you like that?  Why is cowboy saving the fucking day?”  He is full of questions that I don’t know the answer to. “He just grabbed my arm tightly and asked how his girl was doing.  I told him that I am not anyone’s girl and then Aiden was there.  Calm down, please.”  I’m starting to feel the stress of him being this angry.  My childhood was spent with different men beating on my mother every day.  They used to talk to her and look at her like he is talking to me right now.  I don’t think he would ever hit me, but his rage is causing old memories to surface that I am not ready to deal with right now. “Aiden saves the motherfucking day.  Doesn’t he?”  He is angry with me.  Why is he so pissed at me? “Aiden is just a friend.  What is your problem?”  I grab him by the collar of his t-shirt and pull his face to mine.  “Jealous much?” “No one should be touching you like that.” “I agree and it has been handled.  Please don’t ruin tonight for us.”  I beg him as I hold him an inch from my face trying to get him to focus on me.  He finally calms down just as Smitty shows up to see what is going on.  I’m thankful that Smitty loves these guys.  I’m positive that all of our asses would have been tossed if they weren’t the band that fills this bar every time they schedule.      “I’m done tonight.  The show is over.”  Taron begins to yell at everyone that is surrounding us.  The DJ starts to play some music and the crowd finally moves away. “I’m ready to break out of here.”  He looks frustrated as he looks at me over his shoulder.  He has a hold of my hand and our arms are extended between us since I haven’t moved.  I see Eaven looking at us with a smile on her face. I decide to walk in her direction and Taron follows staying attached to my hand.  “We’re going to head out.”  She knows what we’re leaving to do.  She knows me better than I know myself sometimes.  She leans over to hug me and manages to whisper in my ear so that Taron can’t hear. “Be careful my friend.”  Then she leans into a hug with him.  She whispers something in his ear that I can’t hear.

Taron

“Hurt her, and I will kill you.”  Eaven’s threat is heard loud and clear.  I have witnessed the bond that these two share, and I know they will always protect each other.  My future sister-in-law is a feisty survivor and I don’t plan to cross her.  She has proven that she will fight for those she loves.  It takes entirely too long to exit the club.  People are everywhere and every time I turn around some girl from one of my past hookups is lingering in my view waiting for the opportunity to ‘meet’ up with me.  I know Ivy can sense what these girls are after because she gets defensive before we get out the door. “Jealous much?”  I decide the best way to approach this is to be playful and throw her words right back at her. “Um…. No.  Like I have always said, if you want ‘cock rot’ feel free to play the field, just don’t expect me to hang around.”  She is extremely sassy with that fucking mouth of hers.  It is what I love and hate so much about her equally.  She is a breath of fresh air compared to all of the groupies that I am flooded with constantly. I have been holding out for Ivy since we started spending so much time together after Eaven’s accident.  “There’s no ‘cock rot’ here.  My dick may fall off from lack of use lately, but I know that I’m clean.  I always wrap it and I get tested regularly.” I have to protect myself from the lot lizards of the concert scene.  They will agree with everything I say or want to do.  It’s like they are spineless females that expect me to give them a great fuck and then they know the drill.  They head out.  I may hit four girls in the same night if I start at the club. I haven’t had any interest in any of them lately.  Been there, fucked that. There is a sexy brunette that has had all of my attention.  I love a challenge.  She acts like she isn’t interested in me, but I know that if she has a taste, she will love it.  I can’t wait to see if that sassy mouth is just as feisty in the bedroom.  If it is, I may not be able to stand it.
