For Everly
by Raine Thomas
Description
Determined to overcome a dark and tragic past, college student Everly Wallace is only months away from earning her degree in physical therapy. She’s consumed with school, caring for her ailing grandfather, and figuring out how to pay the next bill. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but it just might be the one thing she needs.
Major League pitcher Cole Parker hasn’t fought for anything in his life. He went from a privileged upbringing to a multimillion dollar All-Star career. But when his pitching shoulder starts to give him trouble at only twenty-four years old, he faces the possibility of his injury becoming public knowledge and costing him everything.
In a desperate bid to save his career, Cole decides to hire someone to treat his injury, someone who will keep things off the record and out of the media. He finds the perfect solution in Everly. As mysterious as she is beautiful, she provides an enticing distraction from his pain. Soon, physical therapy is the last thing on his mind.
When an act of betrayal brings the truths they both fear to light, Cole will have to fight for the first time in his life…not just for his career, but for Everly’s love.

Ok, so you might be thinking this is just your run of the mill NA Contemporary story, but you'd be WRONG!
I really enjoyed this book. It has a good story line full of surprise and touching moments. These characters are really good together. I was surprised by how much I really did like them. Now, I love baseball so this was totally right up my alley - who doesn't love a hot baseball player!? No one, that's right... Anyway - I was in love with how strong Everly is from the beginning. She is tough as nails and keeps her shit together - no matter what she seems to be faced with. She's had a rough go at life but hasn't seemed to let it beat her, which I love. Cole is amazingly hot in my head & on the page. He seems to actually have his life together, which is surprising given the beginning of story... now, I'm not saying he isn't a dumbass or a dork, but for the most part, I really liked him. Just a few tidbits on the beginning of this book - I absolutely LOVE how thrown Cole is by Everly when they first meet. I thought it was hilarious that he was so bothered by his brother getting her attention over him. I mean come on - she knows him and not you... can we say EGO. I also thought it was awesome how Cole observed Everly in the restaurant - how he noticed things no one else saw. And Everly - god I loved how she was calm and professional when they met but on the inside was fangirling it just like anyone else would over him. LOVED IT! I really like the switching POV of this book. The author does a really really nice job on the flow and keeping everything consistent. Her writing style is really well done & I think anyone will enjoy it and this book. This book is full of surprises and special little moments, but I don't want to spoil anything for you all so I'm going to leave it there, but you really should pick up this book. I think you'll enjoy it!
